There was no score at the break.
The teams adopted an aggressive approach and kept the Sunday crowds on their toes. The first chance for Cuncolim Union came in the 10th minute when winger Daulat Dessai picked up the ball from his own half and unleashed a snap shot which missed the target by few inches.
Maina did not lag behind and unleashed long rangers but Cuncolim Union goalkeeper Adney Fernandes was equal task to keep his slate clean.
Maina had a golden chance to surge ahead but striker Milagres Fernandes’ rasping shot was thwarted by keeper Adney Fernandes.
Crossing over, the deadlock was broken just ten minutes before the long whistle after Myron unleashed a cracker which hit the post and eluded the rival goalkeeper, 1-0. Maina tried hard but failed to equalize.
Cuncolim Union were richer by Rs 30,000 and were awarded the winner’s trophy while Maina received Rs 20,000.

MLA Micky Pacheco was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Remmy Fernandes, sarpanch of VP Benaulim and Anthony Pango, GFA executive committee member.
