VASCO: Curtorim Gymkhana chalked out a narrow but deserving 2-1 victory over Sangolda Lightning Club to enter the quarter-finals of 40th HQ-NRB Bandodkar memorial all-Goa inter-village football tournament at MPT ground, Baina, Vasco, Monday. Curtorim led 1-0 at the lemon break.
Curtorim took an early lead when Pascoal Fernandes scored off a pass from Mario Noronha in the 10th minute.
Midway into the second session, Curtorim consolidated their lead through Mario Mascarenhas.
With ten minutes to go for the final whistle, Michael Dias pulled one back for Sangolda.
However, Sangolda could not level terms.
Curtorim’s Pascoal Fernandes was declared man-of-the-match.
