RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Nerul SC 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 45th Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament,at Raia panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Both the teams displayed well attacking moves trying to score in each ones citadel.
Curtorim Gymkhana started their moves through Melvin Fernandes and Caitan Viegas.
While Nerul SC started attacking through Devendra Pednekar and Paul Cardozo.
Both teams came to scoring chances on many occassions, but both teams strikers failed to convert in the first half.
Curtorim Gymkhana opened the account through Melvin Fernandes in the 45th minute.
Caitan Viegas of Curtorim Gymkhana and Anson D’Souza of Nerul SC were sent off from the field in the 58th minute by referee Kashnath.
There after Melvin Fernandes scored his brace making it 2-0 for Curtorim Gymkhana in the dying minute of second half.
