BETALBATIM: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Nuvem SC to book their place in the semi-finals of the late Joao Francisco Pacheco inter-village football tournament, organised by Betalbatim SC and played at Betalbatim Sports Complex, on Thursday.
Two second half goals from James Fernandes and Anthony Cardozo in the 40th and 45th minute respectively sealed the deal.
The first half was goalless but Curtorim had a few good chances through Peter Pereira as well as Joshly Gomes. They were the main attacking threat for Curtorim.
Nuvem FC also had a few chances too. Stanley Colaco tried to beat the goalkeeper midway through the first half but was denied.
His teammate Rogef Colaco had a chance towards the end of the half when he beat a few defenders before taking a shot but missed narrowly.
In the second half, James Fernandes had a grounder that beat the goalkeeper as they broke the deadlock to make it 1-0.
They sealed the match when Anthony fired in the second in the 45th minute.
