PER SERAULIM: Curtorim Veterans edged past Joe Cookies, Loutolim Veterans 1-0 to move into the semi-finals of the tournament, at Per Seraulim ground, on Wednesday.
In the well contested quarterfinal both teams dished out an attacking football with Mario Pereira and Seby Vaz creating moves upfront for Curtorim veterans while Anthony Araujo and Augustine Cardozo tormented the Curtorim defence.
Seby Vaz of Curtorim Veterans had the first go in the 6th minute after collecting the ball from Mario Pereira and made a quick and swift strike which hit the Loutoulim goalpost and rebound back into play.
It was Anthony Araujo of Loutoulim who had the best chance in the 20th minute but shot above the cross piece of Curtorim.
Change of ends saw Curtorim Veterans made amends and in the 41st minute Seby Faleiro connected to Seby Vaz from the top of Loutoulim box and released a high voltage shot which hit the inside cross piece of Loutolim Veterans and safely travelled into the nets of Loutolim to take the lead by 1-0.
Curtorim Veterans will meet Barcelona Veterans September 2.
