FATORDA: Danvodem Veterans blanked Vasco Veterans 3-0 to move into the quarter-final of the 1st All-Goa Fatorda Veterans football tournament played at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Thursday.
The first chance of the match fell to Vasco Veterans’ striker Ramesh Palkar but his shot was cleared to safety by the rival defender in the 4th minute.
Later, Danvodem’s Sanjay Borkar should have found the ball at the back of the rival net but his shot hit the side netting and went out of play.
As the match progressed Sanjay Borkar scored the opener for Danvodem with a spot kick in the 15th minutes before Danvodem’s Sebastiao Furtado inflated the lead by scoring two quick goals in the 45th and 50th minutes respectively to make it 3-0.
