RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory of Fatorda defeated Navelim Sporting Club 2-0 to cruise into the quarter-finals of 50th Custodio memorial inter-village football tournament at Raia panchayat ground, Saturday.
Richie Vaz and Francis Andrade missed easy scoring chances for DBO in the 6th and 10th minutes respectively. Francis Andrade gave the lead to DBO in the 12th minute. Clinton Niasso had an opportunity to neutralize the lead for Navelim but his free kick missed the target. Francis Andrade doubled the lead for DBO in the 70th minute.
Francis Andrade of DBO received the man-of-the match award from Navnath Shirodkar.
