CHANDOR: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda defeated Goa Velha 2-1 to lift the 44th Seamen Trophy organised by Chandor Club, at Chandor ground, on Sunday.
It was Necil Pinto who scored the first goal of the match for Don Bosco in the 5th minute. After that Francis Andrade made it 2-0 for Don Bosco in the 7th minute.
Chatur Naik pulled a goal back for Goa Velha in the 24th minute. Goa Velha side tried to equalise but couldn’t get past the rival defence.
The winners were awarded Rs 44,000 while the runners-up collected Rs 34,000 plus trophies.
Minister for TCP and Agriculture Vijai Sardessai was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of MLA of Cuncolim Constituency Clafacio Dias and other dignatries.
