MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda showed great understanding and resilience to demolish Shiroda Youth Club 14-2 in the Salcete Zone GFA’s 3rd Division League at Manora ground, Raia, Friday.
Don Bosco led 6-0 at lemon break. The highlight of the day was brilliant four-goal blitz by Richard Mascarenhas.
In an enterprising soccer, Don Bosco outplayed their opponents in all departments of the game. Don Bosco’s first goal came in the very 3rd minute when Vincent Barbosa bulge the net.
With the early success, Don Bosco virtually toyed the weak defence and doubled the lead in the 7th minute when Richard Mascarenhas beat the rival goalkeeper with rasping shot. Then it was the turn of Edwin Faleiro to write his name on the score board when he punished the rival goalkeeper with clinical finish to make it 3-0 in favour of Don Bosco. In the 22nd minute again, Edwin struck second time to complete his brace.
Vincent who was in thick of action registered his brace in the 36th minute. David Barbosa inflated the tally in the 42nd minute.
The second half did not bring any respite for Shiroda as Don Bosco attacked from both the flanks. Tony increased the tally in the 54th minute.
The Shiroda lads weren’t given much breathing space as Paxton Gomes made it 8-0 in the 63rd minute. David inflated the tally in the 69th minute.
Down by 0-9, Shiroda intensified their attacks and Allister Alemao reduced the deficit in the 70th minute.
Richard Mascarenhas, who was the fulcrum in his attacks, registered his brace in the 78th minute. Agnelo Rodrigues pulled one more back in the 80th minute for Shiroda.
Paxton registered his brace in the 81st minute. A minute later, Richard competed his hat trick and in the 89th minute Richard drove the last nail into rival coffin.
Davorlim thrash
Dicarpale
At DYSA ground, Curtorim, Sporting Club of Davorlim gave a superb display of their attacking potential as they trounced Dicarpale Sports Club 11-1. They led 3-0 at the break.
Davorlim dominated and kept their opponents on the back foot throughout the game. Rosefern Miranda opened the scoring in the 14th minute. After tasting the first success, Davorlim mounted tremendous pressure on the rival citadel. Rosefern doubled the lead in the 20th minute. Sony Viegas inflated the tally in the 21st minute.
After going down by three goals, Dicarpale lost the rhythm and were restricted to their own half.
Post resumption, Davorlim continued to dictate terms and enjoy the total domination over their opponents. Cliff Furtado increased the tally in the 60th minute to give his team 4-0 cushion. A minute later, Liston Colaco added his name to the scorer list.
In the 66th minute, Rosefern register his hat-trick. Two minutes later, Cliff completed his brace. Liston pumped one more goal in the 73rd minute.
Desperate Dicarpale managed to reduce the margin through Levi Colaco in the 76th minute. Stanley Gomes scored a brace in the 85th and 87th.
A minute later, Liston made it 6-0 in favour of Davorlim and later registered his hat trick at fag end to decimate the rivals.
Kenneth ‘two’
good for Uguem
At Figureido ground, Curchorem, a splendid brace by Kenneth Pereira helped Uguem’s Rising Club down Immaculate Conception Sports Club, Paroda 2-1.
The teams were 1-1 at half time. Kenneth drew the first blood in the very 2nd minute. However, in the 24th minute, Silvester Vales neutralized the lead. With the match heading for draw, Kenneth Pereira converted the spot kick in the dying minutes to give his team full three points.
In other matches, Navelim SC edged past Enfermos SC 3-1 while Youth Welfare SC, Assolna scored a solitary goal win aagainst St. Cruz Soc. of Poitomando with Sevil Fernandes scoring the lone goal.
