UTORDA: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda beat SCC Loutolim 2-1 to enter into the semi-finals of the 27th Lourdes Football Festival, organised by United Club of Utorda, in memory of their past president Roque Noronha, at SAG ground, Utorda, on Tuesday.
In the 17th minute Francis Andrade put Don Bosco ahead with a deft placement shot.
Later in the 28th minute, Loutolim’s Sandeep Konde tried his luck from the box, which hit the crossbar and fell into Shawn Noronha’s path and the latter capitalised from close range to make it 1-1.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the break.
Crossing over, Loutolims Sandeep Konde dribbled past couple of rival defenders and had a shy at the rival goal but Don Bosco goalkeeper Swizel Pereira punched the ball over the crossbar.
At the other end, Don Bosco broke the deadlock in the 57th minute through Maxwell Furtado with a powerful strike to fetch the victory.
