PANJIM: Dempo SC thumped Sesa Football Academy 3-0 in the GFA U-16 league second round, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday.
Dempo SC almost took the lead in the third minute but Kanaiya Kamti’s effort hit the post.
In the 19th minute, Lydran Mascarenhas cross was brilliantly connected by Joylex Vaz but the keeper came to Sesa FA rescue.
Dempo finally took the lead in the 21st minute through Myron Ferrao off Osrick Trindade assist.
Down by a goal, Sesa FA looked to attack on the break and nearly equalised, when one of their players shot from 25 yards but Dempo SC keeper Ryan Souza brilliantly saved it.
Ten minutes later, a defence splitting pass from mid fielder Lydran Mascarenhas was good enough for Allan Cardozo to score his first goal and second for the team.
On resumption of play, Dempo added misery to the academy side when Sanford Colaco ran with ball dribbled past the rival keeper to slot the ball into the empty nets to make it 3-0.
With this win Dempo SC stand with 6 points from 2 matches.
