MAPUSA: Dempo Higher Secondary School Miramar got the better of St Thomas Higher Secondary School Aldona 3-1 in the Inter-Zonal U-19 HSS Table Tennis Boys Tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), played at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, on Monday.
Aren Dias of Aldona easily Vedant Shrivasta of Dempo in straight sets with a scoreline of 11-10, 11-4, 11-9. Thereon Maeno Pereira also scored a straight set win over Nicholas Lobo of Aldona 11-7, 11-3, 11-4.
Armaan Charania of Dempo HSS eased past Steven Fernandes 11-3, 11-6, 11-6, Moeno Pereira of Dempo HSS scored an easy win over Aren Dias in straight sets 11-8, 11-7, 11-4.
Mushtifund Higher Secondary School Panjim defeated St Xavier Higher Secondary School Mapusa to secure the third place.
