Dempo overpower Sesa

Dempo Sports Club (Jrs) defeated Sesa Football Academy (Jrs) 3-1 in Taca Goa U-20 league at Duler stadium here on Monday. Dempo led 1-0 at the breather.
The result leaves four teams with two wins and six points each after round three. Salgaocar are leading on goal difference, followed by Sesa. Dempo move to 3rd and Sporting clube are 4th.
A second half brace from Dempo’s super sub Jorex Fernandes was enough to put Dempo in the driving seat. In the 63rd minute Sesa squandered the chance to draw level after Reliston Fernandes missed a penalty.
Dempo worked well today, closing down their opponents attack and getting an efficient number of men behind the ball to cope with Sesa’s 4-5-1 formation. Neither team had a shot on goal till the 36th minute. Sesa tried to get back in the match by bringing on striker Adwin Lucas and shifting their striker Amol salgaokar to the right wing.
Dempo took the lead in the 36th minute when Joshua Vaz punted the ball past Sesa custodian Neves Fernandes. The ball was travelling at a snail’s pace and should have been cleared off the line by the Sesa defence.
Dempo’s Jorex was only on the field for 13 minutes when he slotted calmly past Neves in the 66th minute.
Jorex scored his second goal in spectacular fashion for Dempo in the 73rd. After receiving a long pass on the right wing, he outpaced his marker and curled the ball into the top corner of the net.
Three minutes from time Adwin Lucas scored a consolation goal for Sesa as he dribbled
through three defenders, before finishing past Dempo custodian Flann D’Souza.
