PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club and Sporting Clube de Goa opened their campaign in GFA U-20 (Taca Goa) on a positive note recording wins in their respective encounters played on Wednesday.
While the Golden Eagles registered a 4-0 victory over Panjim Footballers at Dempo Academy ground, The Flaming Oranje managed to win 2-1 against Goa Warriors at Duler Stadium.
Dempo were leading by two goals in the first half through Rajat Harijan in the 30th and 44th minutes. Altroy Rodrigues increased the lead by scoring in the 88th minute Desmond Fernandes made it 4-0 by scoring in the 92 minute.
At Duler, Sporting Clube scored a goal each in the either half. They took the lead in the 28th minute following an own goal by Akash Banavalikar. In the second half, Delton Colaco scored the second for the Panjim team before Samuel D’Souza pulled a goal back for Goan Warriors FC.
