CURCHOREM: Dicarpale Sports Club defeated Rossman Cruz, Verna 3-2 in Fr Gervasio Pinto Memorial football tournament, organised by Guardian Angel Sport Club, at Figureirdo ground, on Saturday.
The teams started on an attacking mode. Dicarpale took the lead when striker Joel Colaco slotted past the rival keeper with a snap shot in the 12th minute.
Trailing by a goal, Verna re-grouped quickly and instantly took the fight to the rival camp and neutralised the lead with a snap shot from striker Benestton Barretto.
Post resumption, Dicarpale began in the right earnest and pushed Verna on the defensive and soon the breakthrough came in the 42nd minute when Valmikky Miranda scored.
Stung by the reverse, Verna went all out in search of the equaliser and were rewarded as striker Benestton levelled the score again in the 48th minute.
Dicarpale then increased their pace and troubled the rival defense with well-orchestrated raids and finally drove the last nail into the rival coffin through their striker Leassar Raikar.
