MARGAO: A splendid brace by striker Maclon Colaco helped Dicarpale Sports Club thump Carmona Sports Club 5-1, to cruise into the quarter-final of All-Goa CRSC Cup inter-village football tournament organized by CRSC, Navelim at Rosary ground, Navelim on Thursday.
Dicarpale dominated the game right from the word go and never allowed their opponents to strike a rhythm. Brian Furtado opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he slotted past the rival keeper with snap shot.
Spurred by the early success, Dicarpale galvanised their attacks and Maclon Colaco punished the rival goalkeeper with clinical finish.
At the other end, Carmona was struggling to keep up the brisk pace of the rival attackers and surrendered their challenge meekly. Maclon struck for a second time before the lemon break to register a brace.
Crossing over, Dicarpale continued to enjoy the better share of exchanges and fired couple of pot shots against the rival citadel. Carmona reduced the deficit in the 60th minute through Clffton Cardozo.
A minute later, Dicarpale raised the tempo and Clinton Niasso inflated the tally.
Sandy Colaco drove the last nail into the Carmona Sports Club coffin late in the second half.
