MARGAO: Goa Diocesan Priests defeated Holy Trinity Veterans, Benaulim 2-1 in an exhibition football match, organized by Holy Trinity church, Benaulim, at Holy Trinity ground, Benaulim, Sunday.
In an evenly poised match, the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer. However, it was Holy Trinity that rocked the rival citadel in the 10th minute through Jose Mario Fernandes.
Undeterred, Goa Diocessan’s attacked the rival goal and Fr Mauricio Colaco neutralized with a stiff grounder.
Post resumption, Goa Diocessan’s put up an improved display and intensified their attacks and scored the match-winner through Fr Jaison Vaz.
