Domnic excels in carrom tournament

PANJIM: Domnic Correia beat Rama Naik in the finals to win the 2nd All Goa Velha Carrom Tournament, at Casa do Povo, Goa Velha, recently.
The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,000 along with a trophy while the runners-up was awarded cash prize of Rs 2,000 along with the trophy.
Founder member of Goa Velha Sports Club, Shashikant Naik, was the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes to the finalists in the presence of Anthony Mendes, Guest of Honour, Joel Rego , Assistant Treasurer Agnelo Fernandes, Organising Secretary Melroy D’Silva and president Welvin Menezes.
Results: Round 1 — Domnic Correia bt Antonio Fernandes, Nelson Rego bt Iyno D’Souza, Victor Mendes bt Borkar, Nitin Naik bt Francis Pires, Remy Rodrigues bt Melroy D’Silva and Jeronimo Lopes bt Trimbekeshwar Pednekar. Round 2 — Domnic Correia bt Anthony Rodrigues, Agnelo Fernandes bt Remy Rodrigues, Nitin Naik bt Samir Naik, Lenny Pereira bt Alex Gonsalves, Jeronimo Lopes bt Joel Rego, Rama Naik bt Anthony, Victor Mendes bt Vicky Fernandes and Nelson Rego bt Ashel D’Souza.
In quarter-finals: Domnic Correia bt Agnelo Fernandes, Nitin Naik bt Lenny Pereira, Rama Naik bt Jeronimo Lopes and Victor Mendes bt Nelson Rego.
Semi-finals: Domnic Correia bt Nitin Naik and Rama Naik bt Victor Mendes.
