RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda defeated St Anthony SC, Colva 4-3 in the final to clinch the Rachol Overseas Cup, an inter-village football tournament, organised by Raitura Sports Club, at Panchayat ground, Raia, recently.
Don Bosco dominated the first half and drew the first blood through Minguel Barretto in the 3rd minute. Within thirteen minutes, Danny Dias doubled the account for Don Bosco. Niclau Borges made it 3-0 for Don Bosco in the 28th minute.
Nelson Gomes of St Anthony SC missed a chance to score in the 30th minute.
St Anthony SC came from behind to score two quick goals which came from the boots of Nelson Gomes in the 56th and 60th minute.
Clifton Baretto further made it 4-3 for Don Bosco in the 69th minute.
The winners were richer by Rs, 50,000 and trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 30,000.
Fr Eremito Rebello, parish priest of Our Lady Snows church, Rachol was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Anthony Pango GFA executive member, Savio Messias former GFA secretary, Savio Medeira ex-International footballer, Luso C Quadros sarpanch VP Raia and other dignitaries.
