MARGAO: Tanisi Kirtani bagged the double crown in Margao Cricket Club (MCC) major ranking table tennis tournament, organized by Margao Cricket Club, at MCC hall, recently.
Tanisi emerged winner in the junior girls and ladies singles.
Dheeraj Rai and Siddhant Parekh emerged champs in the mens and junior boys singles.
In the junior girls singles, Tanisi defeated Urmila Mense 11-7, 11-7, 10-12 and 11-7 while she beat the same opponent while clinching ladies singles in the straight sets 11-6, 11-6, 11-2.
Dheeraj Rai had to sweat it out before beating Manish Yadav by 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11-9, 3-11, 12-10 while Siddhant Parekh beat Wesley Do Rosario by 11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7 to emerge champ in the junior boys singles category.
President of MCC Rajesh Naik was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of MCC executive members. Apoorv Bhembre, secretary of the club welcomed. He later proposed the vote of thanks.
