PANJIM: St. Anthony High School, Monte De Guirim had a double delight by winning the under-17 boys and girls Junior Nehru hockey tournament held at Peddem ground, Mapusa.
In the State finals, the boys blanked Shri Damodar High School 2-0 while the girls defeated Perpetual Succour High School, Navelim 2-0.
Both the teams earned tickets to New Delhi to play at National Junior Nehru hockey tournament.
The girls squad consisted of Sweta Prajapati, Viola Castelino, Divya Salgaonkar, Disha Mandrekar, Adelaide D’Silva, Melisa Fernandes, Geeta Rathod, Prajwala Harmalkar, Sejal Parsekar, Chitra Naidu, Amanda Fernandes, Shrutika Burlikatti, Nitiz Kullu, Sophia Monteiro, Siya Dhargalkar and Presha Kerkar.
The boys included Aloysius Fernandes (Captain), Mandar Manjrekar, Bonjovi Viegas, Ijay Majjagi, Joash Zuzarte, Jason Rodrigues, Nawaz Shaikh, James Ruisado, Rushikesh Gawas, Gospel Xavier, Bellestus Mascarenhas, Joel Lobo, D’Souza Casel, Luisson Lobo, Yetesh Tandel and Francis Gonsalves.
