MAPUSA: Dunes SC, Mandrem scored a well-deserved 2-0 win over PVC Parra to move ahead in the 18th Vagator Soccer Cup played at Vagator Parish Youth ground (Ozran Beach), on Monday.
Dunes SC broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute of play when Anand Gad sent a long ball to Silvester Dias inside the danger zone who deftly headed the ball home, 1-0.
Minutes later, PVC Parra were once again unlucky in front of the Dunes SC goal when Joaquim Pacheco’s strike kissed the cross piece.
Changing ends, Dunes SC made the issue safe in the 45th minute of play when Sashank Achevekar fired in a free-kick from 40-yard to the far corner of the PVC Parra goal.
