EC to declare results by Thursday

PANJIM: The Bombay High Court at Goa has directed the Goa Cricket Association’s Election Committee to declare the results of the GCA polls by Thursday, 5 p.m.

The Election Committee was appointed by the High Court and was headed by Justice (Retd.) AP Lavande along with senior advocate Nitin Sardessai and Rajnikant Lawandis as the other two members.
After all the infighting in the GCA, its president Dr Shekhar Salkar had compromised with rival and GCA’s secretary Chetan Desai on June 27, a day ahead of the elections during the scrutiny of nominations wherein all the candidates from Dr Salkar’s panel had withdrawn.
The results were kept on hold by the High Court as per the instructions given by the Supreme Court.
