CAVELOSSIM: Excel Rovers Veterans, Loutolim earned a hard fought 2-1 win over Quepem Veterans to move into the quarter-finals of the Joseph Alves Gomes Memorial Veterans tournament, at Father Drustian Wellington ground, Cavelossim, on Tuesday.
The match was evenly balanced in the first session with both the teams playing attacking football.
Roque Goes’ goal bound shot was punched away by Exel Rovers keeper Succor Azavedo in the seventh minute.
It was Avdhoot who scored the first goal for Loutolim in the 40th minute with a diving header to beating rival goalkeeper to make it 1-0
Later, Francis Colaco doubled for Excel Rovers in the 45th minute.
José Rebello reduced the margin for Quepem Veterans in the dying minute.
