MARGAO: FC Goa fans shouted on top of their voices as the home team emerged victorious in the opening fixture against Delhi Dynamos FC 2-0.
Herald spoke to some of the fans post match as the cheers continued outside the Nehru Stadium.
Shiva Shetgaonkar, who traveled all the way from Panjim said, “FC Goa played fantastic football and the entire team needs to be complemented for the efforts. Goa heroes Mandar Rao Dessai and Romeo Fernandes were a delight to watch.”
Gastan D’Souza from Duler, Mapusa was overjoyed with the performance of The Gaurs. “Today’s opening match of FC Goa was terrific. We played like true champions, scoring on early and doubling the advantage before half time.”
While Menino Rodrigues from Solva, Raia was on the opinion that FC Goa will go a long way in the tournament. “Amchem Goem, Amche FC GOA mukar vosat” (Our Goa, our FC Goa go ahead).
While Joel Fernandes from Nuvem was on the opinion that FC Goa has what it takes to be the finalist.
