MARGAO: Fatima Convent scored a hard fought 4-2 victory against St Jude’s HS Betalbatim in the 1st CSC Girls U-15 inter-school Futsal Cup organised by YFA in partnership with The Kings School, at Chowgule Sports Centre, Margao, on Monday.
It was a game of two halves as St Jude’s HS dominated the first half taking a 2-1 lead with goals from Vinoskha Fernandes and Vienna Coelho while Meloshka Carvalho netted a goal for Fatima Convent. Fatima Convent turned the tie in the second half with good passing and finishing. Paloma Pires the chief architect as she scored a goal and assisted three. Meloskha completed her brace and Swellan Fernandes added one for the winners.
In the second match, St Anthony’s HS, Majorda and Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim played out a drab 0-0 draw.
Manovikas EMS held The Kings School to an entertaining 0-0 draw in the third game. Regina Marytrum, Assolna blanked Saviour of the World HS, Loutolim 3-0. Liza Simoes scored a brace for the winners.
Vinoshka Fernandes’ four goal blitz propelled St Jude’s Betalbatim to a convincing 6-0 victory over Perpertual Succour Convent HS, Navelim. Velanie Fernandes scored a brace.
