MARGAO: Fatima Sports Club ‘A’, Baida hammered Naranpoi Sports Club 4-0 to cruise into the quarter-finals of Chinchinim Villagers Trophy football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, Friday. Fatima led 1-0 at the breather.
Fatima started in whirlwind fashion as the Naranpoi citadel fell in the 15th minute when Maclino slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a rasping volley.
Post resumption, Fatima continued their domination and tormented the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Ian Rebello doubled the lead after he dribbled past a couple of defenders and placed the ball to the far corner of the net soon after the break.
Spurred by the double lead, Ian completed his brace with a snap shot.
Maclino rounded off the tally when he punished the rival goalkeeper with an adroit placement.
