PANJIM: Rajesh Ghodge scored a brilliant knock of 76 runs (12×4, 1×6) in Fatorda Forwards comprehensive 7 wickets win over Pappu XI of Bicholim to emerge champions of the 11th Babu Brothers All Goa T-20 Cricket tournament, organised by Babu Brothers Sports Association, on Sunday.
In the final played at SAG practice ground. Batting first, Pappu XI scored 120 for 9 in allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Fatorda Forward easily chased down the target in the 17th over with 7 wickets in hand.
For Fatorda Forward, Sherbahadur Yadav was pick of the bowler who took 6 wickets giving away just 19 runs.
Winners Fatorda Forward were awarded Rs 70,000 and a trophy while Pappu XI had to be content with Rs 35,000 and a trophy.
Rajesh Ghodge of Fatorda Forward and Sufiyan Alam of Pappu XI received Man-of-the-match and Man-of-the-Series awards respectively.
Town and Country Planning Minister Vijay Sardesai was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Suraj Lotlikar vice president of Goa Cricket Association, Akbar Mulla, member GCA.
