MARGAO: Fatorda Veterans blanked Navelim Veterans 3-0 via the tie-breaker to march into the finals of All-Goa Sun Moon Stars Veterans football tournament organized by Sun Moon Stars at panchayat ground, Cavorim-Chandor, Monday. There was no score at full time.
Changing over, Fatorda Veterans put up a better display with Anthony Fernandes marshalling the midfield with aplomb and kept his forwards busy, who however could not beat the rival custodian.
At the other hand, Navelim Veterans tried hard to get back into the game but their forwards were guilty of muffing easy chances.
In the penalty shoot-out, John, Anthony Fernandes and Francis scored for Fatorda while none converted for Navelim.
On Sunday, Panjim Veterans pipped Nuvem Veterans 1-0. The all-important goal was scored by George Pacheco.
Fatorda Veterans will now meet Panjim Veterans in the final on April 7.
