The match sees FC Bardez Goa boss Armando Colaco face his old club whom he led to I-League glory.
Speaking ahead of the game the experienced Head Coach was in bullish mood when asked about the prospect of facing his old employers. “There is no doubt Dempo SC is a good team, a seasoned team. But tomorrow when we’ll be playing against them it will be eleven vs. eleven.”
Colaco asserted that he was looking at the Goa Police Cup as a dress rehearsal for the Goa Professional League season which is a priority for the club. “I will see who is the best in these two matches and then try to consider them.”
The team has four players who played in the Indian Super League and these stars will not be involved in this regional competition.
FC Bardez Goa Director and co-owner Savio Roy was excited ahead of the club’s debut in the professional game. “Its a great feeling to play Dempo Sports Club who have been one of the biggest Goan clubs for all these years and it is a big moment for our players, fans and for the club as a whole. We hope to have a good match.”
Meanwhile, opponents Dempo are also likely to field a second-string team with their attentions pre-occupied by their dual engagement in the Goa Professional League and the I-League in the coming months.
