MAPUSA/RAIA: FC Tuem Sports Club continued their winning streak by registering a hard-fought 2-0 win over Sesa FA in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s football league match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Thursday.
It was not an easy outing for FC Tuem in today’s encounter after their easy three league match wins.
However, Namita Govekar, player-of-the-match, scored a goal in each session of play for her team and received the award from Sesa FA coach Charles Dias.
At Sirsaim ground: Vintage 73 FC drubbed Sinquerim SC by 11-0 margin. Sinquerim played with nine players with their goalkeeper and a player injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Compassion FC edged past Cana-Beanulim Sporting Association 3-1 to register win. Compassion FC were leading by 2-0 in the first half. Fatima Braganza gave the lead to Compassion FC in the 11th minute and later was doubled by Pearl Fernandes in the 20th minute. Clency Miranda reduced the margin for Cana-Benaulim SA by converting the spot-kick in the 68th minute. Two minutes later, Pearl Fernandes made the issue safer to Compassion FC by scoring a brace and team’s third goal.
