FC YFA drub Goa Utd

MAPUSA: Futebol Club YFA had an easy outing as they drubbed Goa United Sports Academy by 3-0 margin in the GFA’S Women’s league played at Duler stadium, here, on Sunday morning.

All the goals came in the second session of play.

GUSA keeper Aniksha Morajkar managed to keep the score sheet clean in the first session with good saves.

In the 49th minute, a neat through pass by Ansiva was collected by Chelsea and poked into the goal to give her side the lead.

YFA made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute when Jolinda sent a short pass to Somanya whose 45-yard rasping shot crashed into the back of the nylon.

Five minutes before the end of the regulation time, YFA hammered in their third goal. A corner by Rhea Pires curled into the goal beating the defense and keeper to make it 3-0.

Somanya Mukundan of YFA received the best player award from GUSA coach Agostinho Dias and Manager Jesusly Baptista.

FC Goa ease past Compassion FC

On Saturday at Rosary ground, FC Goa scored a fluent 8-0 win over Compassion FC. Stessi Cardozo scored a fine hat-trick completing her treble within 11 minutes. She scored in the 21st minute, 29th minute and 31st minute. Kimberly Fernandez, Aqsa Sayed, Gail Fernandes scored a goal each while Remediana Noronha netted a brace late in the game to take the final tally to 8-0.

Sumitra Fernandes, former International player presented the player of the match award to Stessi Cardozo of FC Goa.
