NAVELIM: FC Goa defeated
CRSC Navelim 5-0 in the GFA U-16 League match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
Ashwin Pinto and Valentinho Cavalho scored a brace each while Reuben Castelino netted the fifth for FC Goa.
FC Goa dominated the play from the start which saw them score three goals past determined Navelim side in the first half.
But it was Navelim side which had the first glance at the goal in the 4th minute, when Rahul Rodrigues raced down the right flank but only to see his shot saved by the FC Goa team.
At the other end, FC Goa’s Reuben’s effort hit the side nettings.
Rahul was brilliant for his team creating constant moves upfront but the young lad lacked equal support from his teammates. His defence splitting through ball to Velton Fernandes was timely blocked by FC Goa’s Vigesh in the 6th minute.
FC Goa finally broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Ashwin Pinto.
Ashwin doubled the lead for his team in the 34th minute before Reuben scored the third in the 35th minute.
Crossing over, Navelim came back strongly but Myron Gomes missed two goal scoring chances in the 48th and 50th minute.
Thereafter Valentinho Carvalho scored two more games in the 55th minute and the second half additional time.
