Fr Agnel, Assumpta Convent OL of Rosary in quarters

MARGAO: Fr Agnel Multipurpose HS, Verna; Our Lady of Rosary HS, Fatorda and Assumpta Convent HS, Sarzora booked their place in the quarter-finals of under-14 inter-school football tournament Salcete Taluka, at Manora ground, Raia, on Thursday.

Fr Agnel defeated Mae Dos Pobres HS, Nuvem 2-0 with a brace from Shane Esteibeiro.

OL of Rosary thumped King’s School of Sao Jose de Areal 5-0. Shelton Araujo scored a brace while Maxwell Furtado, Reagan Araujo and Steve D’Souza accounted a goal each.

Assumpta Convent of Sarzora scored a comfortable 3-0 victory over Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim. Nigel Fernandes, Shanon Baretto and Cleine D’costa scored a goal each.

Bethany Convent of Sao Jose de Areal and St Pius X High School, Orlim moved into the pre-quarters.
