MARGAO: BMC registered a 2-0 victory over Fr Agnel Boys, Cotto to cruise into the quarter-final of all-Goa Sucaldem Cup football tournament, organized by Sucaldem Youth Club, at Sucaldem ground, Chinchinim, on Monday.
The winners led 1-0 at half time.
BMC dominated the game right from the word go and never allowed their opponents to get into a rhythm.
They called the shots against the rival goal with some good and attreactive brand of football as their opponents failed to match their pace.
Subsequently, Clive put BMC into the lead midway in the opening session when he punted the ball to the far corner of the net, giving no real chance to the rival goalkeeper who could only watch the ball enter his goal.
Spurred by the success, BMC mounted pressure on the rival goal but could not inflate their tally.
Fr Agnel Boys tried their best but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
After the break, BMC continued to enjoy the better share of exchanges and troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Denson scored the insurance goal midway in the second half which ensured BMC the edge over their opponents.
In another match, RX, Sarzora prevailed over Assolna United 12-11 via the sudden death.
The teams were tied 1-1 at full time and neither of them could managed to score the match-winner in normal time.
