SS Boys crowned champions

Sachin Naik scored a vital half century for the winners to bag the man-of-the final title; They were richer by Rs 30,000; Santosh Satarkar was adjudged man-of-the-series and Best Bowler

CANACONA: SS Boys, Loliem got the better of hosts Lingston Hi-Jacker Sports & Cultural Club, Mashem-Loliem by three runs in the final of the T20 season ball taluka cricket tournament, at Loliem, recently.
The winner netted a purse of Rs 30,000 and a glittering trophy.
SS Boys scored 138/7 in their allotted 20 overs with a brilliant 50 run knock from Sachin Naik.
Batting second, Lingston Hi-Jackers SCC could manage only 135 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted overs as all-rounder Santosh Satarkar, who earlier took four wickets in SS Boys innings, also came out good in batting line-up and scored 79 runs.
The runner-up had to be content with Rs 16,000 and a runner-up trophy.
The man-of the-final was awarded to Sachin Naik, man-of-the-series and Best bowler Santosh Satarkar.
The prizes were given at the hands of Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ramesh Tawadkar, who was the chief guest in the presence of Loliem-Polem sarpanch Bushan Prabhugaonkar; Lingston HiJacker Sports & Cultural Club, Maxem president Ravish Satarkar; panch Vallab Tengse and other dignitaries.
