MARGAO: Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda swamped Cana Benaulim Sporting Association 4-1 to cruise into the quarter-finals of All Goa Davorlim Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Sporting Club of Davorlim, at panchayat ground, Davorlim, on Saturday.
Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club led 2-0 at the breather.
Fr Agnel dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Striker Manush Olveira, who was in thick of action, scored a brace in the 15th and 20th minute.
The second half continued in same vein with their strikers firing the pot shots against the rival goal. Sezwin Fernandes struck twice in the 35th and 37th minute to give his team 4-0 cushion.
Fr Agnel slackened their pace and never allowed their opponents to launch barrage of attacks and in the fag end, Jaison Pereira reduced the margin.
