CHANDOR: Fr Agnelo YSC trounced Tilamola United SC 3-0 to advance to the finals of the 14th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup, played at Chandor Church ground, on Sunday.
The match began with Paroda dictating terms right from kick-off and they should have got the lead in the very 6th minute of the match when Socor Colaco’s powerful shot from the top of the box had the Tilamola keeper beaten but the ball hit the crossbar and deflected out of play.
In the 16th minute, Paroda’s talisman Manesh Oliveira sent a beautiful cross which Socor Colaco rose high and scored with a powerful header to give Paroda the lead. Paroda led 1-0 at the lemon break.
Post resumption Paroda took advantage of a counter attack with Manesh Oliveira running wide on the flank and providing a perfect cross to Avon Fernandes who volleyed the ball past the Tilamola keeper to double Paroda’s lead.
In the 54th minute, Sezvin Fernandes unleashed a powerful shot from the top of the box to score the 3rd and final goal to secure a thumping victory.
