MAPUSA: Friends XI Vaddem scored a narrow 2-1 win over Siolim Sodiem to move into the next round of the 7th Reis Magos Panchayat Cup organised by Stamina Cricket Club in association with United Club of Nerul, at Verem ground, on Tuesday.
It was Sodiem who took the lead in the 10th minute of play when Vipul Pednekar headed in Sherwin Lobo’s well executed free kick.
Four minutes later Vaddem levelled terms through Parshuram Kaddinwar who gave finishing touches to Edberg Sequeira’s corner, 1-1.
Denzil Sequeira scored the match winning goal for Vaddem in the 29th minute of play when he leapt high to nod in Amar Kinlekar’s cross.
