MAPUSA: Gauravaddo registered a solitary goal victory over Sauntavaddo to lift the Calangute Association inter-ward football trophy in the finals, at Calangute Association ground, Calangute, Sunday.
Gauravaddo scored the winner in the 15th minute when Sarvanand Korgaonkar’s long ranger dropped in the Sauntavaddo goal, living the rival keeper stunned.
Geeta Parab, sarpanch of Calangute VP was the chief guest and distributed the prizes in the presence of Guest of Honour Agnel Lobo, Fr Cipriano Da Silva, parish priest of St Alex Church, Calangute; Savio Gonsalves, deputy sarpanch, members Jaynath Parulekar, Mathias D’Souza, Clara Fernandes and Joseph Sequeira.
Also present were President of Calangute Association Alex Fernandes, Vice-President Luis Gonsalves, Treasurer Bento D’Souza, Assistant Sports Secretary Marcelino Pereira, Assistant Treasurer Marcelino Fernandes, Assistant Entertainment Secretary Salis Fernandes, Manager Anthony Lobo and Adv Francisco Sousa, ex-president.
