CALANGUTE: Hosts Gauravaddo United, Calangute edged past Tamil Tigers, Siolim 3-2 to win the 8th All Goa Ashley Luis & Suhas Parsekar memorial 3-a-side football tie-breaker tournament organised by Gauravaddo United, at Calangute Gaura Vaddo, recently.
A total number of 37 teams participated in the tournament.
The winners & runners-up were awarded cash prizes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively plus trophies.
The third place winners were Lucky Star, Parra and fourth place winners St Peter Boys, Calangute were awarded cash prizes of Rs 4,000 & Rs 2,000 respectively plus trophies.
Claudio Rodrigues of Tamil Tigers, Siolim was adjudged as best shooter while Pratesh Shirodkar of Gauravaddo United, Calangute was adjudged as the best goalkeeper. Both received cash prizes of Rs 1,000 each.
Joseph Sequeira – Ex. Sarpanch of V P Calangute was the chief gues and gave away the prizes in the presence of Gabriel Fernandez & Jyotsna Jaynath Parulekar- Panchayat members of Calangute.
