MAPUSA, JULY 26
The Third Division clubs from Bardez had their annual meeting at Duler stadium on Monday to discuss the formalities for the upcoming season. The fixtures, team colour jerseys and rules and regulations were taken care of.
The Bardez clubs also had the opportunity to voice their opinions on other issues. The teams were unanimous in asking the GFA representatives present to promote two Bardez clubs to the Second Division this season instead of the proposed one. The GFA executive committee will now discuss the matter.
GFA general secretary, Savio Messias asked the clubs to nominate a member from their village to attend the referee’s fitness test to be conducted shortly as there is a shortage of referees in Goa. “At the moment we have around 90 active referees, but we need around 200 to cope with the number of matches being played,” stated Savio.
