Goa beat Karnataka in T20

In a crucial T20 match at 57th National School Games cricket championship in Mumabi, Goa State U-14 cricket team defeated Karnataka by 22 runs.

VASCO: In a crucial T20 match at 57th National School Games cricket championship in Mumabi, Goa State U-14 cricket team defeated Karnataka by 22 runs.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Goa scored 147 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.
After a good opening partnership of 43 runs in 4 overs between Tanish Sawkar and Rewal Shirodkar, Aniket Naik and Nihar Pednecar had a quick unbroken partnership of 63 runs off only 44 balls for the fifth wicket. Coming together at 84 for 4 in the 13th over, with good intelligent batting and rotating the strike beautifully between them, the two took the score to 147 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs without losing any further wicket.
Aniket Naik scored 49 off 46 balls and Nihar Pednecar scored 18 off 17 balls.
In reply, Karnataka were all out for 125 runs in 18.2 overs. For Goa, Akash Madavi took 3 wickets, Savlo Kalko 2 and Sujay Gaonkar, Manthan Khutkar and Tanish Sawkar one each.
The Games were inaugurated at the famous Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, by Maharashtra’s Minister Jayant Patil.
Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar, BCCI CEO Prof   Ratnakar Shetty were the guests of honour.
