Goa cricket teams enter semis

PANJIM, NOV 30 Goa men and women teams entered the semi-finals of 19th Federation Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Championship at YMCA Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In the women's category, Goa defeated Maharashtra. Electing to bat first Maharashtra scored 35 runs in the allotted overs.

Goa men and women teams entered the semi-finals of 19th Federation Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Championship at YMCA Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
In the women’s category, Goa defeated Maharashtra. Electing to bat first Maharashtra scored 35 runs in the allotted overs. Manisha and Manjusha clinched a wicket each for Goa. In reply, Goa scored the required runs in 5 overs. Danashree Naik scored 24 runs while Manjita scored 5.
In another match, Goa defeated Vidharba. Electing to bat first Vidahrba scored 28 runs in the allotted overs. In return, Goa scored the required runs in 3.3 overs. Dhanshree Naik 10 and Aartis cored scored 11 runs.
Earlier, Goa defeated Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh scored 41 runs. In reply, Goa scored the required runs in 4.5 overs. For Goa, Sharmila Naik scored 21 runs and Manisha 9.
In the men’s category in Group B, Goa defeated Tamil Nadu by 21 runs. Electing to bat first, Goa scored 61 runs in eight overs. For Goa, Tek Bahadur 22, Hemant Khot 15 and Sarvesh Gaude 10 were the scorers. In return, TN could score 40 runs (all out).
For Goa, Hemant and Sarvesh took two wickets each.
In another match, Goa defeated Maharashtra by 14 runs. Electing to bat first Goa scored 49 runs in eight overs. Haresh Parsekar 18, Hemant 6, Sarvesh and Gaurav scored 5 runs each for Goa. In reply, Maharashtra could score 35 runs in the allotted eight overs. For Goa, Tek Bahadur clinched three wickets while Hemant Khot grabbed two.
Earlier, Goa defeated Vidharba by 37 runs. Goa scored 71 runs in eight overs. For Goa, Tek Bahadur top scored with 44 runs while Haresh Parsekar scored 20.
In reply, Vidharba could score only 34 runs (all out). Sarvesh grabbed two wickets while Haresh, Tek and Mayur took a wicket each.
The semi-finals will be played on December 1.
