RAIA: Goa Diocesan Priests edged past Quepem Veterans 3-2 in the Mae Dos Pobres Church, Tilamol, parish football match played on the occasion of Vocation Sunday, at the Quepem Sports Complex, Quepem, on Sunday.
In the first half, Quepem Veterans opened the account with the efforts of Elvis Fernandes.
Concy Oliveira extended the lead in the second half for Quepem Veterans. However, Goa Diocesan Priests made a stunning comeback, turning the score to a 3-2 victory, through a remarkable hat-trick by Fr Christovan Cardozo.
Chief guest Fr Jose Anthon Costa presented the winners and runners-up trophies and shared a few words of encouragement.
The man-of-the-match award was bagged by Fr Christovan Cardozo and the best goalkeeper trophy was awarded to Anil Fernandes.
Earlier, Delisha Rebello, welcomed the players and introduced them to the crowd.
