PANJIM: Goa State women’s team defeated Jharkhand to bag the third place in 23rd Senior National tennis ball cricket championship in Faizabad.
Jharkhand opted to bat first and scored 30 runs in the allotted six overs. Goa overhauled the required target in 3.2 overs. Sharmila 12 and Dhanashree 11 were the top scorers for Goa.
Goa women lost to Chhattisgarh in the semi-finals by six runs. Meanwhile, the Goa men team lost to Rajasthan in the quarter-finals.
The Goa men’s and women’s teams qualified for the Federation Cup championships to be held in Mumbai.
