Goa U-19 will battle it out against Uttarakhand in the Dr B.C Roy trophy U-19 Junior Nationals quarter-final group stage at Salt Lake stadium, Kolkata on Saturday. The kick- off time is 8 a.m.
Goa need a victory in order to keep hopes of qualification for the semi-finals alive.
Goa will be hoping to bounce back from their 0-3 drubbing at the hands of Karnataka on Thursday.
Uttarakhand, have collected three points after their win over Megahalya and can qualify for the semi-finals if they defeat Goa.
Karnataka, also have three points and can do the same if they manage to overcome Meghalaya in the other fixture.
Goa defender Mario Lobo stands suspended after receiving two yellow cards and will be replaced by Jesmon Carvalho. Jesvil D’Souza is still suffering from a thigh strain and Lyndon Pereira will deputise for him at the heart of the midfield.
Lyndon sustained an injury to his back while coming on as a second half substitute in the last match but has managed to shrug it off ahead of the crucial encounter.
Goa U-19 manager, Mario Aguiar said, “It is a must win match for us tomorrow. All the preparation we have put together over the last couple of months will be put to the test.”
Goa probable line-up: Albino Vales, Raju Haldankar, Jesmon Carvalho, Meldon D’silva, James Fernandes, Brandon Fernandes, Allwyn Fernandes, Lyndon Pereira, Edberg Sequeira, Pandhari Chopdekar, Myron Fernandes (captain).
