Goa Police Sports Club defeated Benny XI Sports Club 3-1 in the third pre-quarter final match of Casino Royale Faria Gold Cup at CAC Cansaulim Sports Complex, Cansaulim on Monday.
Benny XI missed three open chances to get into lead in the first-half. Taking advantage of the situation, Goa Police scored in the add on time of the first-half through Swanand Naik.
In the 62nd mininute Swanand scored again to make it 2-0 in favour of Goa Police. Punaji Kalangutkar made it 3-0 in the 70th minute.
Benny XI finally scored their first goal in the 85th minute to make the scoreline a bit respectable.
Swanand Naik was awarded the man-of-the-match prize for his brace.
The award was handed over by Chandrakant Naik, ex-International and present goalkeeping coach of Faria Strikers.
