Goa Police, Politic XI in T20 finals

Goa Police will lock horns with Politic XI in the finals of 5th Al-Fatah T-20 cricket tournament at Chicalim Sports Complex ground on Saturday.
Goa Police crushed Goa Sports Academy by seven wickets in the semi-final and Politics XI defeated Iqbal XI by six wickets.
Batting first, GSA set a target of 101 for 8 in 20 overs. Satyen Bandekar scored 26 runs, Sayed Khaleed 16 not out, Ashay Korde 15 and Sanjog Panjikar 14.
Krishna Volvaikar took two wickets for Goa Police and Abhijt Talekar, Krishna Sawant, Harshanand Gaonkar and Raju Dabolkar took one wicket each.
Vivek Kharapukar and Vinod Wilson set individual scores of 45 and 38 runs respectively. Vivek Kharapukar was awarded the man-of-the match prize.
Sayed Khaleed took two wickets and Sudin Kamat one for GSA.
In the second semi-final, Politics XI defeated Iqbal XI by six wickets. Iqbal XI set a target of 132 which was easily reached by Politics XI in 16 overs losing only four wickets.
Vikas Desai scored 35 runs for Iqbal XI, Sawan Phaterpekar 26 and Rupesh Naik 17.
Frontline bowlers Prashant Kakode and Shailesh Mesquin took two wickets each while Yeshwant Barde claimed one wicket.
Opener Sachin Sardesai single handedly scored 69 not out in 42 deliveries, which rewarded him the man-of-the match prize. Yeshwant Barde scored 32 runs and Kiran Pednekar 21.
Rupesh Naik was the only successful bowler for Iqbal XI with three wickets.
