MAPUSA: Goa Police Sports Club came with a late 90th minute goal to squeeze past Penha de Franca 1-0 win in the GFA’s First Division League, played at Duler Stadium, here on Friday.
Penha de Franca were the first too attack their rivals, when in the 7th minute Anil Gaonkar’s blistering right footer banged the Goa Police woodwork and bounced back into play.
The goal that separated the two sides happened at the brink of full time when Tushar Dessai sent the ball towards Shaikh Saliya who finished off through a powerful header, 1-0.
In the injury minutes of the march Penha de Franca almost levelled terms however Goa Police keeper Niklesh fisted the ball away.
